Why it was refused

  1. Insufficient information has been provided to demonstrate that noise from the full range of proposed activities would be adequately controlled to protect neighbouring living conditions. The proposal is therefore contrary to London Plan Policies D13 and D14 and Croydon Local Plan Policies DM10.6 and DM23.
  2. The submitted information fails to demonstrate that staff parking, customer vehicles, vehicles awaiting work or collection, turning and servicing can be safely accommodated within the site without obstructing the footway or creating unsafe vehicle movements. The proposal is therefore contrary to London Plan Policies T4, T6 and T7 and Croydon Local Plan Policies SP8, DM29 and DM30.
  3. The proposal fails to demonstrate sufficient space and suitable access for secure, covered and conveniently accessible cycle parking alongside the proposed staff parking. The proposal is therefore contrary to London Plan Policy T5 and Croydon Local Plan Policies DM29 and DM30.
  4. Insufficient details have been provided to demonstrate suitable storage, containment and collection arrangements for automotive waste, including waste oil, tyres, batteries and filters, alongside the proposed parking and servicing arrangements. The proposal is therefore contrary to Croydon Local Plan Policy DM13.
