Planning Decision
Why it was refused
- The proposed development would result in a detrimental impact on highway and pedestrian safety as a result of the unsatisfactory parking layout, insufficient parking provision, and the absence of contributions to sustainable travel in the area. In addition, it has not been demonstrated that the proposal would not have a detrimental impact on the local highway network by reason of increased on-street parking stress. The proposal would therefore fail to comply with policies T4, T6 and T6.1 of the London Plan (2021) and policies SP8, DM29, and DM30 of the Croydon Local Plan (2018).
- The proposed development would not provide well designed, adequate and accessible refuse and cycle storage facilities to serve the needs of future residents. The development therefore fails to comply with the Croydon Local Plan (2018), in particular policies SP4, DM13, SP8, DM29, and DM30, the London Plan (2021), in particular policies T5 and SI 7, and the London Cycle Design Standards (2016).
