Mature Yew Tree in neighbours' garden (number 19d Preston Park Avenue, BN1 6HL).A small section of our neighbours' mature yew tree comes across the boundary wall onto our property. It has now reached the house and, as well as cutting out light from our side passage and the side windows of our house, it is starting to interfere with the guttering. In order to prevent any possible damage to our property, we would like permission to cut it back to the boundary wall. This would reduce the overall crown by less than 20%.Our neighbour is happy for us to have the work carried out. He has said he will be applying to have the tree on his side reduced in the Autumn, at which point he would be happy to have the work done on our side too, but we don't feel we can afford to wait that long. We are about to have the outside of our house painted, and the overhang will prevent access.
