Tree Spec Species: Mature conifer (likely Leylandii or pine type) Location: Rear garden of No. 42 Audrey Gardens, Wembley, positioned along the boundary with No. 40 Audrey Gardens Description: Very large mature specimen Approximately 25?30 metres in height Bifurcated at base forming two substantial stems Each stem approximately 3 metres in diameter at 1.5m above ground level Context: The only tree within the rear garden of No. 42 Located approximately 10?15 metres from the dwelling at No. 40 Situated approximately 3?5 metres from outbuildings (sheds) in both properties Works: Fell to ground level and grind stump to below ground level. The proposed works relate to a very large mature conifer (Tree A) located in the rear garden of No. 42 Audrey Gardens, immediately adjacent to the boundary with No. 40 Audrey Gardens. The tree has reached a substantial size (approximately 25?30 metres in height with twin stems of significant diameter), and is in close proximity to neighbouring structures and boundary features. There is clear evidence of ongoing physical impact on the shared boundary, including displacement and cracking of concrete fence posts and damage to timber fence panels. This is supported by submitted photographs showing both close-up and contextual views of the damage, including impacts to concrete uprights at the base of the tree. In addition, the tree is located approximately 3?5 metres from outbuildings (sheds) in both No. 40 and No. 42 Audrey Gardens, giving rise to concerns regarding continued structural pressure from both root growth and overall tree mass. The scale and proximity of the tree also result in significant overshadowing of adjacent gardens, including established fruit trees (apple trees approximately 8?10 metres in height) within No. 40, affecting their growth and productivity. It is important to note that the owner of the tree at No. 42 Audrey Gardens supports the proposed works. Given the size, location, and demonstrated physical impacts of the tree, removal is considered a proportionate and reasonable course of action. The applicant is willing to consider the planting of a suitable replacement tree, of an appropriate species and scale, should the Local Planning Authority consider this necessary.
