Nos: 53 & 54 High Street were originally used by one business, a garden shop. Consent for Change of Use to a solicitor's office was granted to no:54; the two areas therefore needed separating, and 54 made fit for purpose. * the doorway between the two areas was blocked * a boarded internal opening was reopened from the rear of 54 to access the street door, the hall and the stairwell. The toilet can be accessed from the hall, and the stairs lead to upstairs offices owned by the same business. * Fire doors were installed in this new opening, between the front and the rear parts of 54, and to the WC * Fire retardant/suspended ceilings were fitted throughout 54. * New sockets, lighting, safety lighting and wiring were installed. All of the above were completed in March 2018. * Replace broken pane of glass in window in one of four bays overlooking Steeple Lane. Currently pane is in one piece, but it is proposed to replace it in two sections, as one single pane cannot fit through the opening, due to the new lower level of the suspended ceiling.
