Trees in question (marked A and B on the sketch plan) are a Leyland Cypress and a Laurel - both have got quite large, have low amenity value and were severely damaged by the recent storms (picture d) - the cypress in particular lost more than 50% of it volume as its main limb fell in the wind (see picture a). Tree surgeon has advised that both trees should be removed. The Cypress is now heavily lopsided (picture b) and at risk of falling on top of greenhouse and neighbour's land. The laurel is also damaged and both are quite heavily entangled (e). We intend to replace both with a grove of 5 fruit trees to the north of the old brick wall, where the laurel is currently - incuding pear, walnut and cherry.
