Opening to cavity at 12m South and 13m North at point of tear out, cavity within main stem approximately 40% with limited reaction wood extending between adjacent tear outs. Limited scope for reduction due to lack of suitable pruning points, Crown reduce/thin to decrease sail area by up to 50% equating to approximately 2.5m from the upper crown. T677 Black Pine, Mature, condition Fair. Slight retrenchment/thinning of upper canopy. Some inclusion in main unions, strong reaction wood formation. Spiral of necrotic bark/decay in co-dominant lateral North, good reaction wood formation. Cavity which appears to be approximately 40cm deep at ground level West, occluding well. Cavity in stem North visible from the south. 2t brace installed at 50% above the defect, timber on codominant stem above this point has decay and areas of necrotic bark limiting the ability of the brace to restrict movement at the union. Recommendations, Undertake a 2m reduction from the East to the South to reduce the leverage and possible wind/snow loading on the included union, Reduce the suppressed stem North by 2m to reduce likelihood of failure, removing no more than 2.5m from any one branch. T783 Hornbeam Overall condition Poor. Included area of necrotic/dysfunctional timber (roadside), significant Phytophora infection, retrenchment of upper canopy. Fell to ground level. T782 Hornbeam Overall condition Fair. Good vitality. Poor form. Included unions at 3.5-4.5m, Fell to reduce competition stress on adjacent trees and reduce long term cost implication of retention. T 826 Poplar Poor condition. Low vitality. Asymmetric crown leaning towards the Highway. Fell.
