Up to 10% Canopy reduction of Oak, to remove decay and deadwood.A mature tree previously heavily reduced with subsequent decay, located adjacent to the drive at the front of the property, the previous reduction has resulted in decay at the pruning points with limited reaction wood and weak regrowth. Recommendations from the recent aerial inspection, remove the epicormic growth on the main stem to a height of 6m and cut back the old pruning nubs to create BS standard pruning cuts. Reduce 2 lateral branches at 13m West and 11m East by 1m, up to 1.5m from any one branch. Remove one secondary lateral at 11m South East and 1 large primary branch at 7m North with signs of decay. Remove all major deadwood. Further pruning to be completed as required, up to 1m from the decayed branches to balance the appearance of the canopy, the total crown reduction as a result of this pruning operation will not exceed 10% of the canopy area and is only to reduce risk to members of the public and not to decrease the size of the canopy.
