Emerson Park is a suburban neighbourhood in the London Borough of Havering, situated 15 miles northeast of Charing Cross. Developed from two large housing estates on the former Nelmes manor, construction began in 1895 for the Emerson Park estate and in 1901 for the Great Nelmes estate. The area is well-connected by the Emerson Park station, which opened in 1909, and has seen significant residential development, including a small housing estate called The Witherings, established after the demolition of the Nelmes mansion in 1967.
