Extension of existing garage footprint The current single garage fell into a state of disrepair and was subsequently dismantled. I now propose to re-build and upgrade to a larger garage, which will allow me to park 2/3 cars and motorcycles off road. The garage will be standard construction from concrete blocks, finished with PVC cladding. The garage will have an electric roller shutter door facing the carriageway and a standard door facing the house for access to the rear of the garage. I propose 2 standard windows facing the house. The front face of the garage will be 1 meter back from the edge of carriageway. Currently the rear boundary consists of wooden gates, iron access gate & small length of a privet hedge. In order to build the garage the hedge will be removed outside of any bird nesting season. To offset the removal of the hedge i plan to install 2 bird houses and small greenery around the garden. Proposed garage roof to be timber joists over boarded timber sheets and covered with corrugated steel sheeting. Rainwater will be collected with guttering and downpipes and outlet into water containers that act as sump unit. Garage will be constructed to maintain 300mm offset from either boundary.
