Planning Application Details - 25/0202/TTPO

T16 Horse Chestnut - Removal to ground level. Fungal brackets of Ganoderma adspersum on south side of trunk at 1 metre. History of large branch shedding but has been previously reduced to manage the risk. Various decayed rips and pruning wounds with internal decay. Damaged buttresses roots on north side with internal decay (on outside of lean). Internal decay throughout will be expected to have coalesced into a single large area of decay / dysfunction / desiccation (Horse Chestnut has poor defence of decay in the vertical direction). The fungus is infrequently associated with structural failure of trees as it is largely saprotrophic, remove tree to reduce future risk and danger to public.
