Planning Application Details - 26/00016/TWA

Mature Ash tree (Fraxinus excelsior) roadside at the front of 14 Platinum Place exhibiting signs of reduced leaf coverage a symptom of Hymenoscyphus fraxineus (ash die back). Photographs taken in August of 2025 showing only approximately 50% of the expected leaf coverage for a healthy ash tree. Due to the trees location with a large part of its canopy overhanging New Road and the trees expected decline in keeping with the typical progression of ash die back permission is sought to reduce the tree to ground level and to replace with 2 Quercus robur standard trees (8-10cm girth). This work is designed to reduce the likelyhood of branch failure or whole tree failure as the trees timber characteristics weaken as a result of the continued ash die back infection.
