Removal Of Two Common Lime Trees - 21B Colin Road, Barnwood, GL4 3JL We're applying to remove two Common Lime trees, Tilia x Europaea, located in the rear garden of 21b Colin Road. Once the two present Common Lime trees have been removed, including the grinding out of the stumps, the replanting of more suitable sized trees will be undertaken. Both trees (T1 & T2) are multi stemmed specimens which have undergone previous pruning work including crown reduction and pollarding. However, due to the current size of the trees in relation to the size of the actual garden if the trees were to fail, they are within striking distance of numerous properties and structures, which have been built around the Old Rectory site where the property 21b Colin Road is now located. It's also been noted that there is significant included bark around the base of the trees where the multiple stems haven't fused together suggesting the formation of weak unions in a critical area of the tree's structural area. In addition, the trees cast a huge amount of shadow over not just the owner's property but also the neighbouring properties during the summer months preventing the full use and enjoyment of their gardens during the summer. The canopy of the trees also hangs over into the neighbouring properties so any potential failures of limbs from previous pollarding work will inevitably land and damage nearby structures. For these reasons we've advised the removal of the two Common Lime trees (T1 & T2), which have unfortunately outgrown the...
