We plan to have have air conditioning within two internal rooms, for health reasons. It is proposed that the two internal units will be connected to one single Outdoor Unit (Condenser Unit). The Outdoor Unit will be situated at ground level, immediately adjacent to the property, on the side of the property, at the point marked in red on the Block Plan. (See attachment: "Air Condittioning Location and Distance from Boundary Wall"). The Outdoor Unit has a size specifition of 890mmx 342mm x 673 mm (0.204 of a cubic meter). It will be located at a distance of over 12 meters from the boundary stone wall. The Outdoor Unit will have a maximum decibel (Db) Sound Pressure of 55 Db at source. This is confirmed in the attached specification (Outdoor Specification) for the proposed Outdoor Unit which is shown at page 27, column 3 (CL 5000M unit Model 7733701934). Extensive telephone consulation with Pollution Officer at the Council, has confirmed that the Sound Attenuation formula would be used to assess the reduced Sound Presssure at the boundary or beyond. Use of this formula indicates that the sound pressure at the boundary wall will be below accepted levels for Air Source Heat Pumps in Wales. However, in the absence of Permitted Development Rights we require planning permission for the Outdoor Unit.
