Tree is in the front garden of the property. Identified as a flowering almond. The species is too large for its setting and as it matures the canopy is extending further over the footway and the branches also abrade the front of the house. In order to keep it in check a tree surgeon has to be appointed every spring to severely cut back the the crown, which is not always possible. In addition, the root system has been seen to extend out beyond the property boundary beneath the footway, which was revealed when services works were undertaken beneath the footway. I am extremely concerned that the root system will undermine the foundations of the house, which is a similar distance from the trunk. It is therefore proposed that the tree is removed. This will also allow a new brick boundary wall to be constructed and the front of the property made more in keeping with other historic frontages in Soper Grove.
