Planning Application Details - TRE/2026/0835
I have recently moved into no 45 Mill Street. A large yew tree is planted very close to the house - item T1 on the sketch plan. I am concerned it could affect the foundations of the house in future. It will also block sunlight to the garden in the summer. Its topmost branches are growing through various telegraph wires and connections, so it would need to be regularly pruned to keep from interfering with these. The tree does not provide privacy to the house, due to its positioning at the side of the house, nor any benefit to any other neighbouring properties. I would like to remove the tree completely to avoid potential damage to the house, improve light into the garden and avoid the slippery red berries which make the path to my house difficult in autumn. There are two smaller trees in the front garden - items T2 and T3. I am unsure as to the type of trees they are, though I think one is a cherry. They look straggly to me and that they would benefit from pruning - I will be led by whatever is recommended by a tree surgeon - but I would like to apply for permission to prune these if needed.
